“Like many artists, spending a lot of time alone in my studio, those same walls, and lots of bare canvases can create a felling of dread. As valuable as that solitary imaginative work is, I am crazy about plein air painting and am a regular with a local Victoria group the “Al Frescoes”. It amazes me just how fascinating I find en plein air, and how much I have learned in these few years. I love the process. You have to try to decide quickly what to paint, with so many choices. I have learned so much just standing around and seeing how other artist interpret the same scene. I am amazed at the different choices and unique perspectives each artist has. It is often the best part of my day.”
