Miles Lowry

Miles Lowry sculptural installation, Dissolve / Reveal, chosen Peoples Choice at Artropolis, was the subject for CBC Artspot. Drawing from important travels, his paintings observe natural phenomenon while he explores human anatomy in his compelling collection of torsos. Artistic Co-Director of Suddenly Dance Theatre in Victoria, Miles also works in video arts and media. Writer and co - director of OPIUM, based on French poet Jean Cocteau, presented on Bravo Television in 2005, chosen for the 35TH Dance on Camera Festival at Lincoln Center Plaza in New York, Opium had a French debut on ARTV Quebec. His next two films Aisling and Guthrie Swims the Lake for Bravofact allowed him to also contribute to the soundtracks. Lowry's most recent book, Blood Orange, based on the life of Paul Bowles, was released by Ekstasis Editions in 2008 and is being adapted for a new film project.
